In this workshop we will cover
For new managers, one consistent area of struggle is navigating challenging conversations. They find themselves stepping up to uncomfortable situations like delivering difficult feedback to their team members, managing expectations with clients, handling tense cross-collaborative scenarios, advocating for their team members, and more. Research shows many managers avoid these conversations altogether hoping they will go away. This only causes the situation to fester and makes the conversation more difficult to initiate. New managers need practical tools they can use immediately to navigate these conversations.
In this workshop, early career managers will learn to set the intention for their conversation, conduct the conversation using a balance of sharing and learning, and close the conversation for action. Throughout the workshop, learners will complete a conversation roadmap in preparation for a real upcoming challenging conversation. All the content is evidence-based and shown to be lead to productive outcomes.
